"Death's-Head Chrysalis" is a short EP that thematically explores a crossroad between time, place, experience, and mindset. Specifically, it reflects upon a certain point in one's life where all previously understood meaninglessness becomes irrelevant. Things that were once a big deal become trivial and the little things in life become everything.

Most of us spend our younger lives trying to emerge as a butterfly, metaphorically speaking. It is, however, only after a long walk down reality's path that we learn to accept ourselves as we are, as we learn the merit of our own being and the concept of bringing more to the table as a human being.

"Death's-Head Chrysalis" discusses the idea of time and experience eroding the superfluous and pretentious ideas of individualism and a shifting of focus towards becoming a useful and positive human being in the pursuit of personal and communal value.

The album artwork, created by Anett Gebauer Photo & Film, reflects these themes in a subtle, yet deliberate way. Her concept of pushing the portrait back behind the emerging moth and spacial degradation, while leaving the figure pure and whole, evokes feelings of letting go of unnecessary ego, drama, and expectations outside of our control. The artwork was inspired by her original interpretation of the music in a visual sense, and perfectly conveys the small body of work. In order to ground ourselves in the present and embrace the possibilities of the future, we must look for beauty in the mundane.
